Casapueblo is a hotel and museum built by the Uruguayan artist Carlos Paez Vilaro.

The museum is a great place to visit to learn more about the culture, the country, and the art.  It is simply breathtaking.  It is located in Punta Ballena which is right outside of Punta del Este.  The fee to tour the museum is about $4 US per person.  The museum has a gallery to buy both original pieces of art as well as prints.  Also there is a restaurant for some light eats.
