“Happy with the Beach Club!”

Disney's Beach Club Resort

We are new Florida residents, so have started staying a night here and there at various Disney Resorts (normally value or moderate). For my birthday, we splurged on the Beach Club. With the value and moderate Disney resorts, I tend to fax and email a special request for view/
room and have been lucky as my requests have always been granted. Did the same with Beach Club, faxed it was my birthday & requested full balcony. This time, got a patio room, not so great location, overlooking a bush. Felt pretty disappointed. So I thought, ok, we will splurge & ask how much it would cost for water view and called the front desk. Was on hold for a few moments and told we had received a complimentary upgrade to waterview. It was a lovely room, with the new furnishings, carpet & bedding, with a fantastic view of the Boardwalk. We were so pleased and excited! Everyone was super friendly, it is less busy this time of the year, so everything just feels like it's at a much more leisurely and relaxing pace around the Boardwalk. But we will definately come back to the Beach Club again.

“Excellent Stay in Refurbished Room”

Disney's Beach Club Resort

Just returned from a week at BC - our first stay at this resort - and it was wonderful. I called the week before and requested a refurbished room as I'd heard the older rooms were starting to look worn. I was granted the new room upon arrival with no problem. It was not ready yet at 8 a.m. so they held our luggage and we hit the parks for the day. Upon returning at night, the room was like a sanctuary. Fresh paint and carpet, well-appointed, separate shower/vanity area, and a daybed that was perfect for one of the kids. It was cleaned very well every day, and one day the housekeeper forgot to leave a bath mat, so I went out to get one from her cart, and she was so upset, we had 8 bath mats and far too many towels in the bath every day from there on.

Stormalong Bay was fun when we had time to hit it after the parks closed. The Marketplace was fine for breakfast - we eat on the go so we weren't looking for a sit down meal. Never any lines at 7 a.m., easy to bring the tray back up to the room to eat. Was never back there at lunchtime to comment. Tried to eat at Beaches and Cream on our last day out but the wait for lunch was 45 minutes. Ate elsewhere on the Boardwalk. In the evenings the line was out the door there for ice cream and they closed at 11. Got ice cream late-night at the Marketplace with no line and it was fine.

Best thing about BC is the easy proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You can walk easily to both - I would never take the boat to Hollywood, we can walk faster than it can drive. Extremely convenient as we spend most of our time in Epcot and always end the night there.

Best of all, we had a Bounceback offer waiting in our room so we were able to book the BC for our Food and Wine Festival trip in October at a discounted rate.

I highly recommend this hotel - it definitely had Deluxe amenities similar to Polynesian. I would just say to always look for a discount of some sort so you don't have to pay Deluxe prices. I used an Annual Passholder discount for this trip. You just have to do your research and keep your eyes open and you can find one.

“Beach Club is the Best!!”

We have stayed at several Disney properties, but this has to be our favorite. We were lucky enough on this last stay to be upgraded to a suite as a part of the current Disney promotions, but we have stayed in regular rooms and found them to be great. The pool and location are the great qualities of this hotel. We are always more than satisfied with the staff and the service, and we never have been treated poorly. Being able to walk to EPCOT is amazing and the boat and bus service is fine. We certainly look forward to our next trip!

“9 fabulous nights at the Beach Club”

Disney's Beach Club Resort

5 of 5 stars
Buda, Texas
Aug 14, 2008

We just returned Monday from a wonderful time at the WDW resort. We spent our first night in Orlando at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. While the lodge is absolutely georgeous, we were not that impressed with the hotel itself.

The next morning we moved over to the BC to begin our Disney vacation package. We had 8 day park hopper tickets, with waterpark and more option and the basic meal plan.

From the moment we arrived at the BC, we were treated so well. We arrived about 9:30 a.m. and our room was ready. I had requested a full balcony, and the request was fulfilled. Not only that but they upgraded us to a waterview room on the first floor. We had a lovely view of the lake and the Boardwalk. They are in the process of refurbishing the rooms, but haven't made it to the 1st floor yet. However, we found our room to be very clean with comfortable beds and adequate room. It was me & my daughters and we had a lot of stuff and didn't feel crowded at all. The hotel is very close to the International gate @ Epcot and Disney's Boardwalk area with lots of restaurants and entertainment close by.

the pool - Stormalong Bay is the nicest pool on Disney property. It has a sand bottom and a huge water slide in a pirate ship. My daughters are 12 and they LOVED this hotel. The pool area is so nice and clean. The kids had a blast there. We stayed at the BC 3 years ago and had a similar grand experience.

We ate at the character breakfast @ Cape May cafe - very good and at the soda shop Beaches & Cream which was also very good.

Overall, I can not say enough great things about the BC. If we ever go back, we would definitely stay there again.

“Yawn......”

Disney's Beach Club Resort

Aug 13, 2008

Things around the Beach Club are looking a bit tired. I remember our first stay - WOW - everything was crisp, shiny and polished. Not so anymore. We arrived at the very beginning of what looks like a major renovation however, so future guests might not have our experience. Our one week stay was marred by the following:

The room was worn - carpet stains, hair in the bath area (stuck to the molding- lots of it) dusty and just not clean to Disney standards. For $300 plus a night - I would expect enough towels for our party of 5 (no) the day bed to be made up daily (no) upgraded amenities (plasma? refridge that works? micro?) clean windows (no) and no construction - or at least a notice telling us that construction and workers would be on the grounds during our stay. This was disappointing. The entire halway of the second floor leading to the lobby was boarded up and under constuction from 8 am to 6 pm - construction cars parked in guest parking spaces and even in the valet area. Workers carried large beds and furniture through the hotel and guest areas. What is going on?

We pay for convenience at the Beach Club but we also pay top dollar because it is a premium Disney Resort. We did not have that experience at the Beach Club this time. Management needs to inform guest BEFORE they book that this hotel is being renovated and offer them the choice to stay elsewhere.

Hopefully these renovations will bring the Beach Club up to par. We will be staying elsewhere next time.
