We loved our Ampora Wine Tour! At the end of our touring day we enjoyed it so much that we regretted not booking for the next day as well. The three wineries we visited on the Uco Valley tour were all fabulous and gave us an idea of the difference between large and small wine operations. As part of our tour, we had lunch at O. Fournier; it was divine, the wines were delicious, and the opportunity to go behind the scenes and see how the wineries worked was just amazing. We did some touring on our own the next day, and the quality of those tours was no where near what we experienced with Ampora. Our guide was perhaps the best part of the day - she was so knowledgeable, friendly, and excited about the wines! She really made everyone feel comfortable no matter what level wine knowledge they had, and she knew so much about the region. Ampora went above and beyond in helping us arrange travel to Mendoza, as well as helping us to arrange accommodations at two excellent hotels. Our wine tour was hands down one of the highlights of our South American travels, and maybe one of the best vacation experiences we've ever had. We're already planning a return trip for 2009!

I enjoyed everything about my experience with Ampora wine tours - from surfing the website, to the booking process, to the friendliness with which they answered all questions both telephonically and via email. Their tours are definitely for the person that does not want to form part of a big commercial bus tour, but prefer a more discerning experience which allows you to really experience not only the wines but also Mendoza and its people. Their guides are knowledgeable about not only the wines but also the history of the area and its geography. The wineries that we visited were very carefully selected so as to give a good idea of the spread of wineries in Mendoza. Ampora did not skimp at all in their choice of wineries and the places they chose for lunch and for tastings were top notch. I cannot recommend this more highly and it will remain a highlight of my time in Mendoza and even Argentina as a whole.

My original intention was to use several different wine tour companies in order to compare them for an article I was writing. But after our fabulous experience with Ampora, we immediately booked on for a second tour day and all thoughts of other tour companies were abandoned.

Ampora's tour guides, Maria and Connie, were exceptionally well-informed about the wine-making industry. Both had previously worked for vineyards. They were obviously passionate about sharing their knowledge with others, but were able to bring information to life in a relaxed and unassuming way that made you forget you were actually learning. These intimate wine tours far surpassed anything I've experienced in California wine country.

Lunches on the tours were set at the base of the Andes in breath-taking vineyard restaurants. We were served 5 star, 4 course meals paired with local wines.

We visited an eclectic combination of wineries ranging from very modern, more commercial-like facilities to tiny owner-operated facilities where we tasted wine directly from the storage tanks. All wineries were extremely candid in sharing their wine-making philosophies. Additionally, they did a fabulous job of complimenting each other's information, recognizing that we were part of a tour visiting several wineries that day.

Everything from transportation to arranging the tour, to even paying for it in a combination of U.S. dollars, credit cards, and Argentinian pesos could not have been made easier for us. Ampora is truly a high-end, customer service oriented company that wildly surpassed my expectations in touring us through some of the most beautiful wineries in the Mendoza area. I can't recommend them enough!

We did the Luan de Cuyo tour on our second day in Mendoza. After riding bikes in Maipu the previous day, our comfortable van was a welcome change. We visited 4 wineries, each with a distinct philosophy, but all 4 shared the same welcoming feel. We were greeted out front by our guide at every stop before being ushered through the vineyards and bodegas. Our tour guide, Maria, was fantastic and definitely made the tour. They even let us bring all our luggage around and dropped us at the bus terminal at the end of the day.
