We stayed at the Tryp Buenos Aires for 3 nights prior to boarding the Star Princess for a cruise around the tip of South America. The hotels Princess was using were either booked or too expensive, so we researched & booked the Tryp on our own. They sent a car to pick us up at the airport for a cost of 99 pesos which was added to our hotel bill. The hotel is small but turned out to be very satisfactory. The lobby is tiny, sparse, modern, & next to a parking garage but is just fine. The desk employees were great with a couple of them speaking English quite well. They booked a city tour for us & also a tango show which was "out of this world" called "Senior Tango." We saw the show only, but you can include dinner. The hotel is very secure with a doorman on duty & a key necessary to enter the elevator. It is newly remodeled (2006, we think); & our room was big, clean, & adequate with a comfortable bed. The bathroom floor can be heated if so desired. There was a refrigerator with mini-bar, a flat-screen TV, & internet hookup. We paid $499.13 (US $) for 3 nights, & the breakfast buffet which was lovely was included. The hotel is very near Florida Street where there's a lot of activity & restaurants. It's also close to the Galerias Pacifico, a very large shopping mall. It was inexpensive to take a cab when we needed to. This hotel does not have all the amenities that a large, expensive hotel has; but we would highly recommend it.
