“Private oasis, fantastic service”

Its the quality of service that makes the Sofitel stand out. We stayed here for the first week of our honeymoon, we got a great room and complementary champagne - they really went out of their way to make us feel special. The staff could not do enough for us.

It is a classy hotel located in a central area, Recoleta and Puerto Madero are close by, yet it is on a quiet street with many art galleries which meant there was no noise at night and you returned to an oasis of calm after a busy day sight-seeing.

The restaurant Le Sud is superb, we had a meal here the first night and it was probably the best of our trip. Our only gripe would be that the pool and gym are small.

“Quality and privacy.”

I will echo all the positive things said about this hotel by prior reviewers and add one more thing. In addition to being elegant and fabulous, this hotel feels very private. While in Buenos Aires, we strolled over to the Alvear Palace Hotel to see what we were missing. As it turned out, the only thing we were missing was throngs of tourists. The Alvear lobby is a bit of a tourist destination, with great crowds of milling visitors coming for tea, a drink or just a look around. The Sofitel, on the other hand, doesn't attract the public; it is a haven for its guests and was much appreciated for that sense of calm in busy Buenos Aires.

“Great Hotel, excellent experience”

We spent three nights in this hotel and had an excellent experience. Very classy hotel located in a quiet street within walking distance from La Recoleta area and the Florida pedestrian area. Breakfast was included in the price and was of very good quality and with a large selection. One night we had dinner at the restaurant Le Sur and the food was exquisite. The people at the front desk and the concierge were helpful and fluent in English.
The price paid for the room was certainly worthwhile and at any rate cheaper that equivalente hotels in Chile and Brazil we stay during our trip.
We woild recommend this hotel without hesitation

“Pretty Fabulous...”

A luxury hotel with all the trimmings. No significant gripes. You certainly get what you are paying for.

Not a convenient location for exploring on foot. You have to cross one of those 'widest streets in the world' to get to Recoleta and it takes 20 minutes to get there on hoof, but the staff can easily call you a cab.

We stayed over New Year's and it was sold out months in advance, so if you're booking around then, start early!

Be sure you have the address/neighborhood of this hotel when you get in a cab at the airport because there are 2 Sofitels in B.A. Also, make sure you get an actual taxi cab and not an illegal one. haha. made that mistake.

“LOVED the Sofitel!!”

Sofitel Buenos Aires

5 of 5 stars
Burlington, Canada

We just returned from a cruise to Anarctica on the MV Discovery. As part of our cruise land package we were booked into the Sofitel. The Hotel was fantastic from the moment we arrived at 7AM after a long overnight flight and they let us check in right away. The normal check in time is 3:00pm and we were worried as to what we would do until then. No concern at the Sofitel. We were able to sleep for a few hours and then enjoy Buenos Aries. The hotel is in a nice quiet area. Our room was very comfortable, quiet and the bathroom beautiful. The staff were very attentive, spoke english and we felt very welcome.

We ate lunch in the hotel and ordered steak. They give you 2 steaks for your meal. The steaks were delicious.

Our flight got delayed for 8 hours and the hotel let us stay in our room for another night for 1/2 price. Since we had a very early morning flight, we wanted to try and get some sleep before our 6 AM flight.

This hotel is truely a 5+ star hotel!
