“Not as bad as it's made out to be”

Okay, so Mexicana isn't the most luxurious hotel available to stay in in Sharm el Sheikh, but in my opinion it is no where near as bad as some of these reviews make out. True I did not stay on an all inclusive basis, preferring to check out the local restaurants and egyptian cuisine, but breakfast was basic, edible and in a clean setting, and by no means 'disgusting,' -although I wouldnt say it was four star. Our tour operator made us fully aware that they did not recommend dining in any of the hotel's three restaurants, which i didnt mind as it's not my thing anyway, and most of the food on offer were carbohydrate based burgers, chips and pizzas.

Our room was clean, tidy and basic. The bed sheets were immaculately clean and made up every day. We had a television with a few english speaking channels, a telephone, a fridge which was filled every day,- the sorts of things you might expect. It wasnt top quality, but unless i'm completely unaware of the low standards of hygiene i posess, i cant see how anyone could call this hotel filthy or disgusting, -it simply wasnt, in my experience anyway. The pool was clean, towels clean, everything clean. The grounds were well maintained, and beatiful flowers laced the outside of the building.

The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The guys on reception didnt have the best english, but there werent any major problems caused by this. The hotel itself is a bit out of the way of the main tourist area, but then again that's how i like it. Taxis to naama bay are about 3 english pounds.

If you want to stay in your hotel, have the best of the best and live in the lap of luxury, this hotel is not for you. If you want to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in your hotel, be provided with daily entertainment in your hotel, basically live your holiday with your hotel as the main focus, then i definitely dont reccomend mexicana to you. But if you;re happy to stay in a clean resort, with everything basic provided, and will be spending a lot of your time venturing out to places and coming back to chill by the pool and top up your tan, then its absolutely fine.

“Nice setting”

Staff are very friendly. The place is kept clean. The setting is great especially at night when both pools are lit up. There is hardly any entertainment. Not suitable for children apart from the pool and table tennis. Thursday is karaoki. There is a masseur. The food is basic expect chicken with every meal. There are 3 restaurants but only one is available to all inclusive. All inclusive drinks stop at 23:00. Fresh orange, pizza etc you will be charged. Towels and sunbeds are free. The rooms are cleaned daily. There are shuttle buses which will take you to both the beaches and Centre of town. Be aware as you exit the bus in the Centre you will be met by someone from a shopping precinct. Just ignore them and walk up the road. Learn to say NO THANK YOU in arabic otherwise you will be hassled continously. At the airport on the return journey be aware of prices. A tub of Pringles cost £5. Be also aware of Visas. Do you really need one if you are travelling locally.

Do Not Go to this hotel
It is not 4* at all
Food is terrible
No animation - no night life
Pool bar is bad with dirty plastic cups
Have to pay extra for pizza and chips
only open for all inclusive until 11.00 pm in a miserable bar with no atmosphere
This has put us off Egypt even though my friends love it
Self catering people are treated better
had upset stomach for most of second week
showers in rooms are dirty
shower room used on last day absolutely disgusting
Please read and listen and DO NOT go here.
Also dont use Going on Holiday Group as they messed us around

“Ignore All the Bad Reviews This Hotel is Excellent”

Creative Mexicana Sharm Resort

Our experience of the hotel was excellent from start to finish.
On arrival we were met by the the hotel taxi at the airport, where he had waited for over 2 hours as we were delayed.
Our room although quite basic was very nice, more than we expected as it was a one bedroom apartment, with small kitchen and living area, when we had only booked a twin room. The bathroom was clean and the shower quite powerful, the air conditioning was excellent too.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, however some of the reception staff's English could have been better. The restaurant staff and bar staff were very efficient and obliging. We were All Inclusive and the food was excellent with plenty of choice every meal time, the restaurant is buffet style and was exceptionally clean and the food very tasty.

The swimming pools were great too very warm water and not too crowded although one tip is to put your towel on your lounger at breakfast if you want a good spot.

All in all this was an excellent hotel for a reasonable price, we would recommend the hotel to all our friends and may go back next year.

i have just returned from a 2 week stay at the mexicana with my boyfriend and before i went i read the reviews and thought people were just bein fussy and moaning but now ive been there i know all the comments are true,
when we arrived at the hotel we hadnt got our suitcases as they got left at luton aiport so that put us in a bad mood to start off with but then arriving at the hotel and not having anyone who spoke english to speak to to help sort out the problem didnt help so we rang the xl rep from the hotel and told him the situation and all he said was there was nothing he could do completley useless and then from then on we only seen our rep once he never turned up.the reception staff were ffriendly especially mohammad.my boyfriend also had the doctor out as he gotrealy bad sicness and diarreah which alot of other people had down to the food and how bad it was and all the salad is washed in tap water so make sure u dont eat that.the food was the same everynyte and we was all incluive which was had as we only had that as a choice instead we ended up spending lots of money eating out in naama bay.also they dont provide you with botted water you have to pay for it and all inclusive stops at 11 which is when the entertainment starts at night mind you the entertainment was terible only karaoke on thursdays and belly dancing sunday so nothing to exciting.me and my boyfriend spent nearly everynyte in bed at 10 watching a movie as there was nothing to do.this is proably the most expensive, stressful and worst hotel i have been to and would definatley not go back.
