just back from 2 week stay at this hotel. Travelled with my husband and 18 month old son. we stayed on a B&B basis which was good as we ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and found it to be quite expensive for what we got. Many nice restaurants just outside hotel. highly recommend Maharaja restaurant (Indian), in our opinion they provide the best food and value. We had 3 starters and 2 mains and bottle of wine and water for 38 euro. My husband dived with the Red Sea Diving College most days and he was happy with this. I found the heat too much for myself and little son, so we stayed indoors from 11-4. They have about 4 movie channels in the rooms which is great if you are travelling with kids, they also have 2 kids channels which show tweenies, barnie and postman pat every day. They have a small kids pool which can get very busy after 11am. There is a kids club there for kids 4 and over. I did not use this as my son is too young, but did have a look and found it to be quite run down. There is never a problem getting sunbeds, also loads free throughout the day, never full. I did not find this hotel particularly luxurious in any way but the staff are wonderful. All the staff seemed to love kids and always stopped to chat with our son. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and they truely are so friendly. The gentleman who cleaned our room Ali was brillant. Alaa and Mohamad at the pool always put towels out each morning for us even though we didt not ask for this. They reserved the same pool seats for us for the whole 2 weeks. As we had our son with us we were quite limited with what we could do and see and explore. There are plenty of trips that we could have done and it would have made it a better holiday, we previoulsy had stayed in Luxor a few years back and went on trips everyday so this was quite a different experince with our child with us. If I could do it over again I would have booked somewhere less hot and less far to travel as to suit our son. I was quite limited with how I could spend my day with him, not much to do but watch movies, but if you have no kids and want to explore egypt this is as good a base to start. we flew with Futura airline and it has to be the worst airline I have ever flown with. we have travelled quite a bit all over the world but this was bad. The most cramped seats ever and no meal or drinks served as part of your flight. we booked through panorama and they told us that meal was included (not true!). Its a six hour flight so very bad!! I would not return to this hotel as it was not what I expected in a 4-5 star level.
