“travelled with child”

Jolie Ville Resort & Casino Sharm El-Sheikh

just back from 2 week stay at this hotel. Travelled with my husband and 18 month old son. we stayed on a B&B basis which was good as we ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and found it to be quite expensive for what we got. Many nice restaurants just outside hotel. highly recommend Maharaja restaurant (Indian), in our opinion they provide the best food and value. We had 3 starters and 2 mains and bottle of wine and water for 38 euro. My husband dived with the Red Sea Diving College most days and he was happy with this. I found the heat too much for myself and little son, so we stayed indoors from 11-4. They have about 4 movie channels in the rooms which is great if you are travelling with kids, they also have 2 kids channels which show tweenies, barnie and postman pat every day. They have a small kids pool which can get very busy after 11am. There is a kids club there for kids 4 and over. I did not use this as my son is too young, but did have a look and found it to be quite run down. There is never a problem getting sunbeds, also loads free throughout the day, never full. I did not find this hotel particularly luxurious in any way but the staff are wonderful. All the staff seemed to love kids and always stopped to chat with our son. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and they truely are so friendly. The gentleman who cleaned our room Ali was brillant. Alaa and Mohamad at the pool always put towels out each morning for us even though we didt not ask for this. They reserved the same pool seats for us for the whole 2 weeks. As we had our son with us we were quite limited with what we could do and see and explore. There are plenty of trips that we could have done and it would have made it a better holiday, we previoulsy had stayed in Luxor a few years back and went on trips everyday so this was quite a different experince with our child with us. If I could do it over again I would have booked somewhere less hot and less far to travel as to suit our son. I was quite limited with how I could spend my day with him, not much to do but watch movies, but if you have no kids and want to explore egypt this is as good a base to start. we flew with Futura airline and it has to be the worst airline I have ever flown with. we have travelled quite a bit all over the world but this was bad. The most cramped seats ever and no meal or drinks served as part of your flight. we booked through panorama and they told us that meal was included (not true!). Its a six hour flight so very bad!! I would not return to this hotel as it was not what I expected in a 4-5 star level.

“Lovely resort”

Jolie Ville Resort & Casino Sharm El-Sheikh

Just returned from a weeks trip to Sharm el Sheikh. Stayed at the Joile Ville resort after much consultation on trip advisor and really glad we chose it. The resirt is lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean with a huge bed and flat screen tv and 2 balconies (though the balcony furniture wasn't the comfiest!!). We took advice from other trip advisor reviews and booked a room in the preferred front area, staying block 8 which is definitely better than the plams or sport area in terms of proximity to restaurants, beach, pool etc.
We stayed B&B. Breakfast was great - massive buffet of fresh fruits, fruit salads, loads of different yoghurt combinations (with fruit, muesli, mint, honey etc), pastries, breads, coked items, cereals etc etc. We didn't need lunch after filling up at breakfast!! We ate at 2 of the hotel restaurants for dinner - the orangerie for the egyptian buffet evening - £22 per head for food plus drinks on top and Ziglionis - Italian. The buffet was lovely with loads to choose from including french fries for those not so keen on the egyptian choices! In fact there was food in so many places each time we went back up to the buffet we discovered new stuff we'd missed the time before!! Ziglionis food was ok but the speed they brought it to the table following our order meant it couldn't have been freshly prepared. In the hotel local wines are between £17 and £26 per bottle and imported about £45, so not cheap! It is defintiely a better plan to eat outside of the hotel if ur on b&b for a cheaper stay. We ate at Maharaja - a recommendation from a fellow holiday maker whilst we were there as we hadn't seen mention of this place on trip advisor before going. it was empty when we got there but the staff couldn't have been friendlier. They were very softly spoken and gave you space but were also there to help you out and to pour your drinks when your glass emptied. The food was cheap and very nice. Good selection of dishes. We also ate at the recommended pomodors which was also excellent though we did have to wait for an outside table and getting extra drinks and the bill proved to be a bit time consuming as the waiters are so busy. Cost £30 for 2 dishes each, beer, breads, rice and soft drinks. Cost £25 including tip for 2 courses, glass of wine and soft drinks. Also ate at TGI Fridays which was the cheapest meal out - £17 for 2 courses and soft drinks - but the worst meal we had! Had drinks at beach bar in happy hour from 7.30 till 8.30 which meant 50% off so more reasonable price wise and you got popcorn! tried the gazhala beach bar after reading a trip advisor review but didn't like that so much though happy hour is 3 hours long but you have to get 2 of the same drink to benefit and staff aren't as friendly.
I was worried being vegetarian about eating whilst i was there but had different food every night so no problems.

We flew via Cairo with egypt air which we wouldn't do again. Our flight was only delayed into cairo by 15 mins but it took us an hour and a half to clear immigration so we missed our connection (no help whatsoever from the airport staff to get through to make our connection) so spent the night in cairo airport so not great start! Also food on egyptair flight is pretty grim especially for veggies!

We went diving with red sea diving college whilst there. Just a word of warning - be careful on the older oats as they have metal backs which are easy to slip on as jumping in. Unfortunately this happened to my partner and he ended up in the hospital for stitches after catching his leg on the metal as he fell. The college staff were great and accommpanied us to the hospital and to the oharmacy and hotel afterwards - all in their college minibus so that made things easy. And Claire, the nurse at the hospital, was great. many thanks to her!

Did camel riding which was good, booked thru the hotel, and also had a few treatments at the jolie spa which were nice though would recommend the swedish over aromatherapy massage and also don't bother paying for the romantic package to get treatments in the vip room together - you are in separate rooms anyway!

So despite a few calamities and coming down with a cold we had a great time and will be going back to the jolie ville again to try and dive without any injuiries!

Me and the wfe have been to Sharm no fewer than 10 times and currently own an apartment on Delta. However with that being rente out long term we decided to stay at the Jolie Ville for one week. Well were we shocked.............this must be the most enjoyable hotel in the whole of Naama. Location, clean, staff, service, gym, pool and the room were all excellent. Highly recommended if you want to stay in Naama Bay right next to the beach and the centre but very very peaceful. *****

“Jolie Ville the Facts”

Jolie Ville Resort & Casino Sharm El-Sheikh

5 of 5 stars
London

Loved the Jolie Ville.
We went 31st March to 7th April 2008. Cost 1/2 board £1500.00 Olympic holidays, (5 hour flight delays both ways very poor)
Here are the facts, all prices in UK Pounds.
Buy Visa at Sharm airport £10.00 each if you want to go on trips if not you do not need Visa.
Rooms in the Sports area - are across the busy dual carrageway away from main hotel, buggies will not transport you to main hotel when dark. Rooms in preffered palm area - are away to right of hotel not in main hotel area. Rooms in preferred front area - are between hotel and beach (no sea view rooms), some rooms have bad outlooks some are really nice. We had preferred front area the quality of our room was poor view but excellent, very clean and 1st class service (no Plasma TV). We had problems with noisy teenagers (300 arrived from Israel) but they soon got moved as every one complained.
4 Restaurants - the buffet restaurant is included in 1/2 board the others are not. All restaurants excellent. The cost of the included buffet is £22.00 each, if you eat in the other restaurants only £5.00 is taken of the bill !! very mean we thought, average price for a meal for 2 including 1 bottle of wine was £80.00 minus a £5.00. A bottle of house red costs £24.00. 1 x glass house red is £6.00 (beware 1/2 glass measures), 1 x local beer £4.00. So buy it in the duty free in England its better and cheaper. The beach BBQ is also extra.
The pool and area is all very nice and clean, plenty of sun beds.
The private beach is also excellent, plenty of sun beds, towels supplied, shame about the news paper sellers every 2 minutes being pestered if you buy a paper make sure its not second hand, ie cross words done for you.
Naeema Bay brilliant.
Went to Cairo, £150.00 each, fly dont go on coach as its 6 hours there and 6 hours back. Cairo airport as you would expect a complete nightmare. Pyramids fantastic, Cairo dirty and very Smoggy.
To summerise.
Lovely hotel, great staff except in the buffet restaurant where they can be grumpy. Will definately go back now we know what to expect.
