I was due in AC for business and my colleague went there earlier than I did. She was incensed with the appearance of the place. When she called she was informed that the location was in a safe neighborhood. That was a blatant lie. She checked into a room and it was dirty. She complained and was taken to another room which was equally dirty. In her opinion, the only thing missing in both rooms was the dead body chalk line on the floor.
With this information, I proceeded to cancel my reservation. So I thought. I was told that it was cancelled. I later received a letter in the mail saying that I was a no show. I called the establishment and after the assistant manager told me that I was lying to him, he “connected” me to the General Manager. He actually hung up on me. I had not raised my voice or called him names as he did to me. At any rate, I called back and this time he actually did connect me to the GM. I left a message on the cell phone because that is what I was connected to. 2 days passed and I heard nothing so I called back. This time I spoke with the GM and he was just short of calling me a liar. There is no reason to lie about the situation but for whatever reason he felt the need to state that it was impossible that any of his staff would say the things that I was reporting to him. I asked him for his boss’ number and he refused to give it to me. I asked him for the customer service number and he refused to give that to me. I ended up calling the reservation 800 number to get connected to the customer care department. I filed a complaint with them and the woman I spoke with informed me that it is policy that they are supposed to give the number if a guest/customer asks for it. Obviously, they are not following their own policies.
My colleague has also filed a complaint. We both will never stay at the Super 8 in Atlantic City. Working for the government, we frequently travel to Atlantic City for work. We will ensure that no one goes to the Super 8 again. The area was booked solid for the AC Air Show and several other events and vacationers. Next time, we will be happy to drive the extra 30 minutes to ensure that we do not ever set foot in or around this poor excuse for a resting place. I hope that you heed this review.
DO NOT STAY HERE.
