We needed a clean comfortable room to visit with some friends over dinner and gamble a little. The $89 AAA rate was key.
We read that the Trump Marina had been sold and knew that with the property in transition we would be taking a bit of a chance, but felt that for one night it would be okay and it was. Okay that is. Nothing more or less.
The staff is very friendly and the property is clean, but maintenance is definitely an issue. Our room, as well as our friends' room, had no cold water in the bathroom sink. The pool area was clean, but the water didn't look too clean. The place just has a downhill kind of feeling, I guess.
The casino is quiet and does attract an older crowd, but that could be due to the high number of penny and nickel slots. Monday morning at checkout was very quiet other than a few seniors at the slot machines.
The seafood buffet at $26 per person was very, very good. The food was fresh and plentiful. Unlimited crablegs, and shrimp, among the rest. We took advantage of the cabs and visited the other bayside casinos.
Our research said that the management company that purchased the property will be turning it into something called Margaritaville. Won't be anymore $89 rooms after that I guess!
In the meantime, if you want a clean room at a very reasonable price, the Trump Marina is the place to go.
