Its the worst hotel stay i had ever experienced. Even though, i'm a local but the service they gave me was really bad. The staff was rude and we check out of the hotel even before 12am. When we made a complaint to the hotel, the front desk manager even sided with her staff and charged us for a full night stay even though we did not stay through out the night due to the staff bad attitude. The staff behaved like a gangster to customers, and i can't believed that the hotel did not even ask the staff to apologise to us. Personally, as a local, i would not recommed this hotel to anyone if service is your top priority.

We stayed here for 1 night at this aqua room. The room was spacious, clean & beautiful design. I also happy that there is a turn-down service in the evening. But we have a sleepless night, as there is a loud music coming from the hotel bar (Majestic bar) till early morning. The water heater is another problem for us, as we might not get a hot/warm water as and when we required. The staff service was horrible, as far as i know the hotel standard check-out time is 12:00PM. But we received a call at 11:40AM to remind us that we need to check-out now where we had requested a late check-out at 12:30PM & agreed by them. The breakfast was very simple & limited choice.

Just returned from 2 nights at the New Majestic. Loved the hotel, especially the open-air (during the day) lobby. Was nice to be in a 'funky' but very comfortable place in an up-and-coming area of town while my colleagues were in big boring corporate hotels. Took me about 7 minutes in a (cheap) taxi to get to Suntec centre each day.

Bed was v. comfortable, Kiehl's products a nice touch, shower amazing, food at the restaurant downstairs very good, staff excellent. My only complaints are:

-for some reason I have noticed this trend in new Asian hotels: lightswitch weirdness. The lightswitch for the bathroom is neither in, nor anywhere near the bathroom--it is above and to the left of the headboard of the bed. Why??

-Air conditioning: you can adjust the temperature in the room,but as I wanted to open the windows and enjoy the tropical breeze at night I had to specially request that the front desk 'dismantle' the A/C. You can't turn it on/off in your own room.

-Restaurant: food was good but the only in-room dining options are set-course menus. Not convenient when it's 10pm and you just want to nibble while writing a business report. I just went downstairs and ordered a la carte in the restaurant.

All in all those are just minor gripes. This is a great hotel and I will definitely be staying next time I'm in S'pore.

We were very happy with our recent stay at the new majestic. despite arriving at 2am there were 2 friendly and efficient reception staff at the desk and a porter happy to take our luggage to the room. we stayed in one of the aquarium rooms. we loved it. good size, great bed and well appointed with all the room features advertised on their website. particularly appreciated the in room espresso maker. and loved the free in room wi fi. breakfast was fine too - small buffet selection with all the usual items and you are also offered a cooked breakfast when you first sit down in the restaurant. fast and efficient service. the restaurant is transformed in the evenings into a slick, modern cantonese restaurant where we had a brilliant meal. pool area is small but perfectly adequate and very refreshing to be able to take a dip in the heat and humidity of singapore. overall, a good small boutique hotel. location wise, in the middle of china town so lots of small streets full of old tea houses to go exploring. and only a S$6 taxi ride to orchard road or a S$10 taxi ride to the botanic gardens. and the hotel bar spread over three differently themed floors in an old house right next door to the hotel is great too - try the ginger martini!
