“Best value for money in the world”

Nathan Hotel

My wife and I have just completed an around the world trip staying in hotels in 18 major cities. We both rated the Nathan Hotel in Kowloon as the best of our trip. We arrived at 1.30am in the morning and the staff were still very friendly and helpful. We were booked into a standard double room which looked fantastic. The desk clerk who accompanied us to our room suggested that we may want to look at some up-grade rooms on other floors. We accepted his offer and finally decided on a room that I could only describe as a luxurious penthouse, on the 9th floor. This room was only about $70US more than our original room. A huge bedroom with massive plasma, a seperate lounge room with another big plasma. Magnificent, massive brand spanking new shiny bathroom. On the same floor is a fantastic free internet business lounge where you even get complimentary coffee and cold orange juice. Breakfast on the top floor was exceptional. A cook actually stands next to a wok and creates egg dishes to your own liking right in front of your eyes. The rest of the buffet style breakfast is top quality and was included in the price. For around $330 a night this place leaves the Hilton and Sheraton for dead. The concierge, Arial, was extremely helpful as were the rest of the delightful staff. The hotel is perfectly situated close to Jordon Train Station and the amazingly colourful Temple St Markets are just across the street. It is smack bang in the middle of one of the worlds greatest shopping districts. My wife and I got top quality optical lens glasses for only $70 each and they were ready the same day! Right next door you can get a fantastic full body massage for around $50. We both had one, it was my first time and I recommend it. The incredible harbour is an enjoyable 15 minute walk from the hotel. The only problem is the hotel room is so nice you won't want to get out and enjoy the sights. Simply the best.

“Loved the clean rooms”

Nathan Hotel

I have got to admit, for the price that i'm forking out, the hotel is really valuable for money!

Close Proximity to Jordan MTR (Which has some really good food) and just 2 stops away from Mongkok MTR.

And yes, the front desk got to do something about their attitude i suppose. The lady who helped us with the "check in" wasn't very friendly.

Stayed in the Executive Room, wanted to upgrade to Nathan Room but the front desk shown no signs of willingness to help at all.

But o well, The room is clean. The bedding is the kind that i like so no complains! :)

“Wonderful rooms”

Nathan Hotel

I had a great stay at this hotel, which was very well situated in Kowloon. After reading other trip advisor comments, I stayed in a room on the Nathan floor and was extremely impressed by the quality of the room as well as the 42 inch plasma screen tv mounted on the wall and the free internet. The service at the front desk really lacked something, but if you treat the hotel as serviced apartments, you couldn't ask for better for the very cheap prices that they are asking.

“Very good value for money”

This is the third time that we have been in Hong Kong and we were looking for a good hotel in Kowloon where we can easily access the MTR and Nathan Road for purposes of traveling Hong Kong, without having to pay the exorbitent prices of the harbour hotels. After loads of research we decided to book a Nathan Room in the Nathan Hotel, including breakfast, on the "Rates-to-Go" website. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised with the room, which had a lovely view of Nathan Road, and the modern look and feel. Make sure though that you book on the 9th Floor, as this floor has the new upgraded rooms and also a private lounge. The breakfast restaurant is in the process of being renovated and can do with a new decor, but the breakfast was much better than what previous comments made it out to be and we enjoyed having a glimpse of the harbour from the penthouse restaurant.

If you are not looking for a harbour view hotel (which comes with an extra price tag) and wish to be in the hub of Natan road and Temple Street, the the Nathan Hotel comes recommended. It is also one of the few hotels that offer a all-inclusive breakfast rate, all other hotels seems to charge an extra amount.

“Our nice stay @ Nathan Hotel”

Nathan Hotel

My Girlfriend and I stayed at Nathan Hotel for 3 nights. We booked the summer executive room promotion so we got free internet access in our room and late check-out until 2pm which was great!

We took A21 bus from the airport and it took us about 30-45 min to get to the hotel and the bus stop is just right there in front of our hotel. (If you will stay at this hotel, I would recommend you to go by bus than by MTR since you will have to carry your luggage up and down the stairs and walk to the hotel.)

Nathan Hotel is located in a good area, it took us only 3-5 min. walk from the hotel to Jordan MTR Station which is only 2 blocks away. You can also walk from the hotel to Tsim Sha Tsui, Harbour City, Victoria Harbour and Mong Kok and you will find lots of shopping places on the way there. The night market is on the other side of the road, just cross the road and you will find it along with many good eating places.

Well, it was our first time at this hotel and we found it a very nice place to be in HK. The room has a good size for HK hotels, it’s a lot bigger than other hotels I have stayed before. We had plenty of space to lay our luggages and our shopping bags. The hotel is very clean, the bed was neatly made and the new fresh towels were replaced in the bathroom for us everyday. The wardrobe is well-designed so it doesn’t fill up the room space. It has enough space and hangings for our clothes. Inside the wardrobe is a safe box which you can easily fix your own code, very convenient.

On the bedside desk, you will find an electronic controller which you can easily control the air-condition’s temperature and fan, all room lights, radio and TV. I have read from other reviews for Nathan Hotel that the room is dark but my girlfriend and I didn’t find the same problem in our room. Our room had a stand light, a table light, two bed lights (left & right), a night light (a very soft light from the top of the bed) and a corridor light which could lighten up our room and gave enough light for the night time.

The bathroom is again bigger than other hotels I have stayed before. You will have a large wash basin counter, surely enough for all your toiletries. You will also be daily provided toilet amenities; toothbrush & toothpaste, soap, comb, shower cap, cotton buds, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner and body lotion.

Well, if you decide to stay at Nathan Hotel, don’t forget to visit the Bali Bar on the top floor. It can help you cool down after your long day shopping. The bar serves all types of beverages with the nice sweet music and cool air.

One more tip: buy OCTOPUS Card before you leave the airport. You can use this card to pay for bus fee, tram fee, The Peak Tram fee (don’t have to queue up and wait to buy the ticket) and many other places do accept this card as well. It’s very convenient and no need to use cash. You can easily top up your card credit by using the automatic machine in any MTR stations.
