The Excelsior was recommended by friends as we were not generally disappointed. Upon checking in and going to our room it was large, clean and comfortable but did not have the harbour view we were expecting. So we went back to reception and they gave us a room with a great view but it was smaller: still very clean and comfortable with all you needed though. The staff were all very helpful, the facilities in the hotel were all very accessible and food/drink was reasonably priced and of good quality. The breakfast service was excellent. Location-wise the hotel was in a great position, near public transport links and shopping and eateries but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of down-town HK. It is not cheap, but it is probably worth it. The hotel also arranges a pick-up/drop-off service at the airport which is very good. All-together a great place to stay for a short break in HK.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days recently for a break in Hong Kong. The thing that sets this hotel apart from any other is the location - we had a deluxe harbour view room and we could see all of Kowloon plus all of Hong Kong Island Harbour, the Noon Day Gun and the Peak all at once - brilliant!
The room was huge and had everything you could wish for and also the hotel was right by Causeway Bay MTR station and within a few seconds walk of Causeway Bay shopping so very convenient.
We tried room service one night which was excellent value for money, we went to the Dickens Sports Bar on the ground floor and we also went to the TOTT bar on the top floor of the hotel which for the views alone you must visit.
I wouldnt hesitate to stay at this hotel again!

My wife and I recently travelled to the bustling city of Hong Kong.
After a 15 hour non stop flight from Toronto and a 35 minute limo ride to the hotel we were very pleased to be greeted by a friendly staff and nice comfortable room.
we booked an executive room which included a checkin in on the 30th floor, so we did not have to go throught the front desk and had a refreshing drink and snack while checking in. The staff is exceptional at the hotel and makes ones stay extra special.
Rooms are not large but very comfortable, ours overlooked the harbor and the view at night was amazing
The hotel is located within a stones throw of all major shopping in Hong Kong as well as many restuarants etc.
Make sure you visit the british pub in the lobby of the hotel, great food. If I ever travel to Hong Kong again I would stay at this hotel again as here was nothing to complain about.
Give the Excelsior a try, you will not be dissapointed and book on the executive floors, the free meals and drinks are worth the extra amount.

The Excelsior is the perfect complement to this vibrant city.

The public areas have a buzz about them with a mixture of business travellers and tourists supported by enthusiastic and very efficient hotel staff.

The rooms, although not huge, are well designed and very comfortable.

The Executive Lounge is very useful if you pay the extra for the rooms in that part of the hotel - and is a calming antidote to the bustle of the city - with has fantastic views. The rates here are good value for what you get.

This is the only hotel I've stayed at in Hong Kong so I don't have a benchmark, but given the positive experience I've had here, I'm not inclined to go anywhere else.
