My wife and I recently travelled to the bustling city of Hong Kong.
After a 15 hour non stop flight from Toronto and a 35 minute limo ride to the hotel we were very pleased to be greeted by a friendly staff and nice comfortable room.
we booked an executive room which included a checkin in on the 30th floor, so we did not have to go throught the front desk and had a refreshing drink and snack while checking in. The staff is exceptional at the hotel and makes ones stay extra special.
Rooms are not large but very comfortable, ours overlooked the harbor and the view at night was amazing
The hotel is located within a stones throw of all major shopping in Hong Kong as well as many restuarants etc.
Make sure you visit the british pub in the lobby of the hotel, great food. If I ever travel to Hong Kong again I would stay at this hotel again as here was nothing to complain about.
Give the Excelsior a try, you will not be dissapointed and book on the executive floors, the free meals and drinks are worth the extra amount.

The Excelsior is the perfect complement to this vibrant city.

The public areas have a buzz about them with a mixture of business travellers and tourists supported by enthusiastic and very efficient hotel staff.

The rooms, although not huge, are well designed and very comfortable.

The Executive Lounge is very useful if you pay the extra for the rooms in that part of the hotel - and is a calming antidote to the bustle of the city - with has fantastic views. The rates here are good value for what you get.

This is the only hotel I've stayed at in Hong Kong so I don't have a benchmark, but given the positive experience I've had here, I'm not inclined to go anywhere else.

We stayed at the Excelsior Hotel for 5 nights and were more than happy with the hotel and its environs.
I think we would have been happy anywhere in Hong Kong, as the first impressions of this amazing city almost made the actual hotel accommodation irrelevant.
After a 12 hour non-stop flight from the UK, we finally arrived at the Excelsior a little after 2:00pm and checked into our 10th floor room. We had a side-harbour facing room but even so, the views were simply stunning looking over Victoria Harbour towards Kowloon.
We caught a couple of hours sleep and awoke to find the whole of Kowloon twinkling in the darkness - absolutely magical.
The room was comfortable, if a little shabby. We were booked on a room-only basis and didn't bother with breakfast on any of the five mornings. We also didn't eat dinner in the hotel as it was far too expensive for our budget.
The Excelsior is in a wonderful position on Hong Kong Island. Causeway Bay is lively and bustling, full of open air markets and close to the trams and Star Ferry Terminal. We found plenty of affordable restaurants close by and wore ourselves out every day walking practically everywhere.
Apart from the obligatory tour up the to the Peak, we also visited the floating restaurants, took a trip to Lamma Island, walked around Happy Valley, visited Stanley Market via Repulse Bay and wandered around the shops and markets off Nathan Road.
I would lovel to revisit Hong Kong at some stage, but would probably try to book into a more affordable hotel with breakfast included.

I stayed at the Excelsior for four nights on a business trip. Overall, the hotel was very pleasant with courteous service.

My room was a harbor view room on the 14th floor. The furniture consisted mostly of built-ins and could have used some updating, but was quite clean. There was a minibar/fridge in the rooom, as well as a decent workspace, a smallish TV and a roomy closet. The bathroom was small, but clean.

The buffet breakfast was slightly pricey (about HKD 200) but very good, with a variety of Western, Chinese and Japanese choices, and really tasty baked products. Again, the service was excellent. I also ordered a Western dinner from room service and found it to be really tasty, and quite reasonably priced.

The hotel gym was compact, but surprisingly well equipped. My only quibble is that it didn't open until about 9 on Sunday, and I was hoping to use the chance to exercise to fight off jet lag.

The location is great, right near the water at Admiralty. The MTR (subway) station is only a couple of blocks away, and the area is a major shopping district, with quite a few good restaurants just across the street in the World Trade Center shopping complex.

I found the Excelsior to be a fine choice for my trip, and would consider it again for another trip, either for business or vacation.
