Cave tubing with Vitalino Reyes, Belize, Aug.14
All the reviews I read on Trip Advisor ,before our Carribean
cruise were true. Vitalino was waiting for us at the cruise ship terminal when we landed. We also chose to do zip linning, and that is run by a different co.. but Vital made all the arrangements
and provided all the transportation. Because there were just four
of us doing the zip linning, we got our own private van chauffered by our intrepid guide 'Luis'. He provided us with a very educational tour of Belize on our drive into the rain forrest. He escorted us to and back from our zip linning adventure throuigh the jungle canopy( 'Me Tarzan!'). We then trecked across the river
into the jungle for our hike to the mouth of the caves,learning about the animals, plants and trees that live in the rain forrest,and their natural remedies.(including the bark of the natural 'Viagara' tree...'where Jane?') Luis than took 'lead' raft
as we floated through the caves pointing out all the rock formations, bats, rapids, and low water points 'butts up'.We even
got to 'Cliff ' jumping at the end of the river in ther deep water.
Awesome excursion & company, and avoided the cruise ship crowds!

We visited Belize as one of our ports aboard the Carnival Legend in late July, 2008. We decided on this cruise to book all of our tours on our own and not through the ship. This turned out to be one of our best decisions of the summer. We did all of our research through TripAdvisor and the sister site, CruiseCritic. As part of this research, we came upon Cavetubing with Vitalino Reyes. After reading all of the reviews, we decided to book it. Again, on the of the best decisions of our cruise-----and hands down our favorite tour/excursion. This is definitely a "Once in a Lifetime" experience, and there is no one better or more experienced to guide you through it other than Vitalino. He and his team are a definite class act.

We arrived in Belize aboard the Carnival Legend on August 14, 2008. I had read all the positive reviews on Tripadvisor months before and decided to give Vitalino a try. We were not disappointed! This was hands down the best of all the excursions we went on and the only one we booked that was a non-Carnival excursion.
Everything from the excellent communications online by Judy Wilson through the rain forest hike, the cave tubing, lunch (try the Belikan Stout beer) and return to the ship was perfect!.
Vitalino is an experienced naturalist and really knows his stuff about the flora and fauna of the region. He made the trip a great experience.
Vitalino's son, Junior, and his assistant Herson were also with our group of 9. They were enjoyable as well. Also, Jenny rode the bus with us and provided lots of cultural information about Belize. She did a great job too!

We just came back from our trip to Belize (Aug. 2-13, 2008). I found Vitalino from the Trip Advisor reviews and they were all very accurate. Vitalino was everything the reviews said he was and so much more--especially now that we have toured with him.

Vitalino is reliable, extremely personable with a great sense of humor. He met my husband, my 15 yr. old daughter and me at the Muni airport and took us to the Cayo district for Cave-tubing and Zip-lining. He was never in a hurry--you could tell that he truly enjoyed being our guide in every way. Vitalino took the time to help us understand the Mayan culture of the jungle and the caves. He was also a great resource for anything about Belize. Cave-tubing is his expertise he made this an incredible experience for all of us!

Vitalino then drove us to the jungle lodge near San Ignacio (Crystal Paradise--a great place to stay by the way) where we lodged for 4 nights. Because our tour with Vitalino was so wonderful and reasonably priced--we ended up using him to arrange our ATM Caving expedition as well as our return trip to Belize International airport with a personally guided visit to the Belize Zoo on the way. I can't recommend Vitalino more highly--he went out of his way for us and we so appreciated being able to trust him in every way.

Prior to our trip, for more info. I went to Vitalino's website at www.cavetubing.bz. I was able to communicate constantly through email. Judy, his assistant was so responsive to all of our questions--she always got back to us within an hour or two.

Overall, Vitalino helped to make our vacation one that we will never forget. Belize is a great country to visit and their motto fits--Belize truly is unbelizable!!
