We have just returned from an eight day cruise on the Carnival Miracle and the last port was Belize. We met Dennis Perez (explorebelizecaves.com) at the predetermined location at the terminals. There was just two of us and Dennis explained that he needed to stay in Belize for the day so we joined his friend's group for the cave tubing endeavor. Dennis put us in great care with Vitalino Reyes (cavetubing.bz) and son Junior.

Upon our arrival at the Caves Reserve, Vitalino provided us great knowledge about the natural resources on the land. We got to tube two caves and the adventure down the river was great. At the end we were welcomed with rum punch. Both Dennis and Vitalino offer a $5 lunch and it is well worth the money. Don't
pass up the lunch offer.

If you are arriving via cruise ship make sure you catch an early tender to the terminals. In preparing for the adventure make sure you take bug spray, water camera with flash, water shoes and a change of clothing. There are facilities at the Caves Reserve so you can get out of that wet bathing suit before your travel back to the terminal.

Last year my wife, sister in law, her friend, and I all took a trip to Belize. Once we arrived in Corozal town we met up with Vitalino. We all jumped in the car and were off for the adventure of a life time. Vitalino treated me and the girls with the most unbelievable kindness, knowledge, and respect. Any questions we had he was more than happy to awnser, and trust me with a car full of three Canadian chicks that's a lot of questions (very patient). Once we got to the river the fun really began. The hike up to the top can be done at any speed you choose and every corner reveals a different tree, insect, or creature. The girls were very brave when Vitalino caught the tarantula and they let him put it on their arms. We considered ourselves super lucky when we caught a glimpse of the howler monkeys up in the trees. The caves are amazing and the water is crystal clear. Go half way down the cave and turn off you head lamps, unimaginable darkness. We had booked a private trip and felt like we had taking advantage of this man by the end of the day, tireless in making our day perfect. I would and do recommend this trip to everyone I know. Hey Vitalino if you ever need a hand changing a tire on the side of the road give your Canadian Friends a call.

My husband and I had a fabulous time cave tubing with Cavetubing.bz. Vital was wonderful, he was waiting exactly where Judy said he would be when we left the cruise ship. I am sure anyone who has cruised before knows that when you leave the port on a private excursion, you walk out and get bombarded with everyone trying to get you to go on their tour, the first person who asked us we said no we were looking for Vital, and up he stepped. No more fuss from anyone else, it was great.

He took us straight to his vehicle and off we went. From the time we got in his van to the time he dropped us back off, he was so informative. It was great to learn about the country and customs. He made sure we seen all the sites on the way to the river.

The walk to the river was great, he told us about certain plants that were used for medicinal purposes. We even got to taste a plant that was used when no water was around. He tried to get us to try the termites, great protein he said, but we had to decline that one, He tried so hard to get a tarantula to come out, but it had rained a lot there lately and they just did not want to come out.

After reading about the incident that happened in September, I was a little nervous but my husband and I try not to let anything bad that had happened previously stop us from trying something new. There is danger in stepping out of my house every day. I want to have as much fun as I can in my life.

But I have to say, once we got to the river, I knew that nothing bad was going to happen. I felt so safe with Vital that I was even the first one to jump off the ledge into the river, and he was right there grabbing my hand to pull me back in. I even did it a second time. We got on our tubes and relaxed. Vital even took out wet bag so we would not have to worry about that while we were enjoying the caves.

Vital did all the work, which we felt kind of bad about that and told him to let us know if we needed to help him paddle us in the direction he wanted to go, but he did not. The only thing we had to do was lift up our butts or in some spots we would get a BUTT MASSAGE, Vital called it. There was another small group behind us and they caught up and passed us, because Vital would stop us in the caves and show us the water falls and other interesting things.

Lunch at Amigo’s was great, but I have to say the Rum Punch Vital made for us was even better.

My family of 8 went to Belize on a cruise ship and had teh honor of spending the day with Vitalino and Harrison. We booked them for a private tour of Altun Ha and the Belize Zoo and I must say it was money well spent! They were both great and Vital is like a walking history book and is full of knowledge. The price was right and it included a nice lunch at Amigo's restaurant. I have been on numerous private tours and Vital and Harrison made this one of the best. What I really liked is Harrison drove, while Vital sat in the back and narrated the entire trip and answered questions. Talking about personal attention...Vital is also a certified tour guide trainer and knows what he is talking about and how to treat people.
