After having been awake for over 30 hours after traveling from Australia, we were disappointed to discover that our hotel room was some 20 meters away from an extremely noisy and busy 5 lane freeway. See the attached photo which shows the view from our room. The window was not adequately sound proofed and more importantly, the door leading out to the tiny balcony overlooking the freeway was not sound proofed (and this was the main avenue for the noise).
We had no idea about the noise from the freeway based on the hotel's website. We complained about the noise and were told that there were no other available rooms. A day later, after again being unable to sleep due to the noise, we complained and were moved to another room on the same side of the hotel (which was only slightly further from the freeway and therefore only slightly quieter). I know there are many other rooms in this hotel that do not face the freeway, however we were continually told that none were available (I was told that no other rooms were available at the same rate, therefore suggesting that I could pay more for a quieter room). I got the distinct impression from the hotel staff that I was being unreasonable in wanting to move hotel rooms, as though I was blowing things out of proportion. I sincerely have never been in a hotel room this loud before - it was ridiculous.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who likes the idea of having a quiet night's sleep after seeing the sights in Anaheim. In fact, I would strongly suggest that such people look elsewhere.
