“Guess it depends...”

Sheraton Park Hotel at the Anaheim Resort

We stayed for three nights at this hotel, and from reading other reviews, I guess the size of the room depends on whether you stay in a regular guest room or the club level. Our room was very small. We were first given a room on the corner, and after waking to the sun directly in my eyes from the corner window, I asked to be moved. I asked for a room with a full balcony, and this room was also very small. The air conditioning unit in the first room did not bother us, but the unit in the second room had a particular hum that bothered my son when he was trying to go to sleep. (I recalled reading that some people were annoyed by the noise.) The pool was nice and getting drinks and food from the snack bar was a nice option. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The view of the fireworks (Disney side) is very nice. The walk is approx. 15 minutes, which is not bad if you're not tired, but seemed like quite a journey when tired and your feet hurt from Disney. The service was overall good and most of the staff is friendly. Molly's for breakfast is good, but I thought a little pricey. If you get a good rate, I would recommend it, but I would not pay a high rate to stay here. Parking was also $14 a day, which can add up, and shuttle service for the hotel would have been nice (like they offer at the Candy Cane Inn).

“Fell in love....”

Sheraton Park Hotel at the Anaheim Resort

First off let me say this was not our first choice in hotels, but now it will ALWAYS be our ONLY choice. We originally had another hotel booked for our 4 night Disneyland vacation stay, but then got an awesome deal through Costco and decided to give the Sheraton Park a shot. Being 'right across the street' from Disney was not a huge deciding factor for us since we drove from Northern California and would have our own transportation. But the hotel is totally within walking distance to the park.

We started our vacation on June 4th 2008 from Sacramento and drove 7 1/2 hours with 5 kids and 3 adults to Disney. Got to the hotel, and was immediately greeted by Jeff [?] the hotel manager who was such a nice gentleman. He took all of our paperwork and said he would be right back. He came back within 5 minutes and asked me how many keys we would need. Told me he gave us connecting rooms with full balcony's that over looked Disney and Disney Ca adventure, told me what night the fireworks would be and where the pool and Jacuzzi was. He then called over the bell hop and asked him to go with me to gather all of our luggage.

As you can guess with so many of us we had a TON of luggage and he didn't even bat an eye. He even gladly loaded up the 2 cases of water and soda that we had with some boxes of snacks i.e....granola bars, beef jerky, cheese its..etc... He then told us he would met us in our room. By the time we parked and took the elevator up to the 8th floor he had un-packed all our luggage and was putting the water in the mini fridge.

The rooms were great, nicely decorated in earth tones, 2 queen beds in each room, large TV, safe, fridge, desk, dresser and large bathroom area. The balcony was very spacious, with a small drink table and 2 patio chairs.

Since we arrived so late we had decided to wait until the following morning to head to the park. That evening we asked Jim [?] the guest relations assistant where a nice family friendly restaurant would be, he reminded us that Mimi's was right down the way some and they had nice food with equally nice prices. We totally love Mimi's and headed right over. We originally got a very young waitress who OBVIOUSLY did not have children and didn't really understand that they NEEDED to eat...even some bread or crackers... So we politely asked for another waitress and she was sooooo AWESOME and dang it I wish I could remember her name but she rocked!!!.

After dinner we headed back to the hotel and decided to go for a swim, the hotels pool was much nicer then we expected. It was a very large for the area and the hot tub was right besides so you could keep an eye on the kids while you soaked your troubles away. The pool area had a bar which was always staffed and had a HUGE stack of towels always waiting for you. We used the pool every single day of our stay and it was NEVER crowded.

Our room was cleaned every single day, and fresh [free] bottles of water were always replenished. The hotel was extremely clean as were all the grounds. I was told the hotel was close to booking capacity but we rarely ever saw or heard any other children, except during the fireworks and you would hear the various oohhhh and aaawwws. The view was sooo cool, we could literally see the laser light show, all the fireworks and even tinker bell flying around.

The only negative would be the hotels cafe... We ate breakfast their one morning and it was down right awful. The service was very slow, the food was barely passable, and it was VERY pricey. We only ate their one time and it will be the only time. We did have pizza from Round table delivered one evening, and thank you again to Jim he gave us coupons to use.

I would recommend this hotel to any of our friends or family, and I know without a doubt we will use this hotel many times in the future.

“Nice alternative to Disney hotels, but shuttles just OK”

Sheraton Park Hotel at the Anaheim Resort

Jun 21, 2008

We visit Anaheim 1-2 times a year and usually stay at a Disney hotel (for convenience), but wanted to save a little money this trip. I chose Sheraton Park based on distance from the Disneyland main gate (0.8 miles), price and guest reviews. The room quality was quite nice - clean, comfortable, tasteful - on par with other Sheraton hotels we've visited (and a bit nicer than the other Sheraton at the north end of Disneyland). Our room overlooked the pool and had a pleasant view of palm trees and tropical plants - was great to relax on the balcony after a long day of sensory overload at the parks. There were lots of families staying at the hotel, so things are not spa-quiet in the hallways (if that bothers you), but we didn't notice excessive noise either. Complimentary water was a nice touch. There is a store for snacks/light meals/drinks, bar in the lobby, and a couple of onsite restaurants (but we didn't try them). There is also a 7-11 across the street.

We knew that a big tradeoff when staying in a non-Disney hotel would be transportation to the parks. Sheraton Park is about a 15-20 minute walk door to gate, but keep in mind that heat, tired family members (especially on the way back) can make it slower and less than pleasant. We had a toddler in our group, as well as an expectant mother, so we relied on the resort transit system to get back and forth. PROS - Sheraton Park is the first stop after Disneyland, so the return trip is very short, passes are inexpensive ($3/$1 adult/child for an all-day pass, with discounts if purchasing multi-day), drop/load locations are convenient to both hotel and gates. CONS - when riding back to the parks mid-day, bus can be filled with guests of other hotels, so potentially no room for you until next trip. Buses are scheduled to run every 20 minutes, but we waited over 45 minutes on two of ~8 trips. Most of the fleet is made up of these funky refurbished trolley-style buses outfitted with park benches (no kidding) and little or no AC. You can open the windows, but they don't stay up very well and can smash down on you at any time (keep your kids clear).

In the end, we saved enough money (over staying at the Grand Californian), to make hassling with the buses well worth the trouble. The hotel itself was great - we'll definitely stay there again when we can't find a reasonable price at a Disney hotel.

“Great Resort Close to Disney!”

Decided to try this hotel out for a weekend getaway. The hotel's lobby is nice and bright. Everyone is friendly and eager to help. Got upgraded to the Club Room with Park View. The view is awesome at night esp you can see fireworks at your own patio.

As for the room, it comes with the standard sheraton sweet sleeper bed (very comfortable), standard Shower and note that the sink is not in the bathroom. Its right outside of the bathroom for those who cares. Internet is NOT free at this property even at the club level (which i found it a bit strange since they normally comp internet at the club level rooms). The club lounge can be crowded in the morning since everyone is trying to eat then hop to Disneyland but they do serve nice continental breakfast and afternoon snacks are served between 5 to 7pm daily (two to three hot foods were served) and the alcohol drinks are free between those hours. Elevators are very fast too for the hotel this size. I never have to wait longer than 2 minutes. I had problem with AC in my room and asked for the room switch - no problem at all. However, if you are a light sleeper, I definitely recommend you to request a room WITHOUT connecting doors since some kids were too excited at night and stay awake while watching movies, playing video games, it can be bothersome for some people (the window's soundproof are great - I did not hear any freeway noises during my stay).

The pool is decent in terms of size and hours. They also have a decent size Gym and Jacuzzi. I saw many family spend their time at the pool This is defintely a resort feel property. I enjoyed this stay alot but I just hope they can lower the parking rate ($14/day with in &out) since many properties nearby provides free parking , I just wish they can lower the parking for the guests). Also, the shuttle to disney used to be free but now they charge $ for every guest, each way. (I guess due to the fuel price inflation?)

Overall, I would definitely come back to this hotel to have a nice weekend getaway and the fireworks at night is simply amazing.

“Great Hotel”

We just got back from Universal Studios and Disneyland. We surprised the kids and told them we were going on the way to the airport. This was our third time at Disneyland and first time at Universal Studios.

We stayed at this hotel the last time we were here. It seems great considering we were at the park all day and out of the room. The staff are always so helpful. The only thing is to ask for a non-connecting room, which I did. Unfortunately, we stayed on the club level but my request couldn't be filled except to put us on another floor. That was fine until the last night when the next room with the connecting door seemed to be having a party until 1:00 a.m. in their room. We could hear everything and had been at the parks for 4 days and stayed late to watch fireworks. We also get up early to get in the parks when they open. Fortunately, it was our last night.

Other than that they have a small but nice pool and it is about a 12 minute walk to Disneyland which is fine for us with a 9 and 10 year old. We would definitely stay again.

We always have such a great family vacation at Disneyland and everyone is always in a good mood. We loved it.
