We had a good experience at the Mayflower. The stay was with 2 adults and our 13 year old son. The beds were very comfortable even though they were only doubles-the room was plenty big enough to accommodate queens. The location was great. Right next to a Metro Station. We didn't miss not having a pool although if we were staying longer that might have been nice to have for my son. Our room was really large and nicely decorated but only had one comfortable chair and a desk chair. More of a sitting area would have been nice, there was definately room for it. There was a coffee pot that made coffee by the cup. We had to call for more coffee since the maid did not replace what we used. There was a stocked minifridge. An empty minifridge would have been better for us but I guess that's just a personal preference. The bathroom was very nice and we felt quite pampered staying there. There were some other families staying there but it mainly seemed like a lot of convention goers. The lobby is hugh and beautiful but nowhere to sit and relax. Only a bench or in the bar (which seemed to be packed). Our main complaint was that we had to pay extra for internet service. I know that is common for higher priced hotels but it just doesn't make since to me when most hotels that we stay in have it for free. Overall this is a very nice hotel. We felt quite pampered and comfortable. I would be happy to stay again if we got a good rate.
