First and foremost, we almost didn't book the Belmont based on some of the reviews about the neighborhood it is in... Give me a break! I've seen scary neighborhoods and this is NOT one. My wife stays at the Belmont often when she is in Dallas. She has a much more free spirit then me, so I wanted to check it out. I found the hotel to be a lot of fun. The pool and bar are fantastic. I made reservations for a "deluxe room" at a rate of $120 per night. I found our room to be small and claustrophic. The one chair and two tables in the room were plastic patio type furniture, not the least comfortable for sitting and talking or watching television. I've stayed at the Belmont several times in the last year and have had a great experience every time. The atmosphere is fun, funky and fabulous. The staff is friendly and laid back and the rooms are cute with both original and modern elements (original tile, new flat screen TV) put together. We stayed there for Valentine's Day and it was fine as long as you did not have to deal with the staff. They are not good when they get busy. The Valet did not have us on the list and gave us a hard time when parking. No one carried our bags and we definitely did not get a bucket... more
