Paradise along the river Kwai! This is a great resort. A wonderful place to relax. The staff is very friendly, garden and pool are beautiful and the bungalows are spacious, clean and wonderfully decorated. There is a wide choice of breakfast and the restaurant is great for lunches and dinining. I would definitely go there again! more

My wife and I spent five wonderful nights here and recommend it to anyone looking for a retreat from the bustle of Bangkok and Kanchanaburi itself. The owners and staff could not be more helpful and friendly and can provide access to a very wide variety of off-site attractions within easy reach (Bridge, cemetaries, Tiger temple (overly commercial) and elephant... more

"Is it really that good?" The answer is plain and simple:"Yes, it is!" In recent years my wife and I (30 and 32 years old) have visited Sri Lanka, USA, Turkey, Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Mexico (3 times). We stayed in 5* all inclusive megaresorts like Riu Palace Riviera Maya and Iberostar Paraiso Lindo. (the reason I put this information... more

My daughters and I stayed at the Oriental Kwai for three nights. It was a calm and green oasis after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and conveniently situated for visiting the River Kwai and Death Railway etc. Djo and his wife were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were delightful and the food very good. The... more

My friend (from Australia) & I (from England) were having a 'girls holiday' when we stayed for two nights at the Oriental Kwai. We just loved the personal service - the fact that the owners took the trouble to introduce themselves to new guests and to engage in conversation about themselves and what to see in the locality. We arrived... more

We, 2 couples from Holland, stayed at the Oriental Kwai Resort for 2 nights and it was too short ! We loved everything about this place. The beautiful garden, the well-decorated bungalows, the food, the quiet and relaxing atmosphere but most of all we liked Djo and his staff (his wife was in Holland, so we didn't meet her). Djo... more

We loved this place. We are a family of 5, with 3 children aged from 6 to 13. We stayed two nights in the family bungalow, overlooking the river. The gardens are beautifully developed, the bunglow comfortable, the service friendly and helpful, food lovely. We had planned to go into Kanchanaburi for dinner but were compelled to eat at the... more

We stayed at Oriental Kwai for two nights this October and received a very warm welcome from the owners. I will definitely go back. I loved the peaceful location (got the feeling i was at one with nature), the beautiful forest/garden in which the bungalows sit, the river location, the fact that it is small (only 10 bungalows) that it... more

We just had the most wonderfull weekend break at the Oriental Kwai Resort and whilst normally never writing on Trip Advisor, felt that this one really does deserve a mention! What we loved: * The owner, Djo (we did not meet his wife, as she was travelling) is a wonderfull host and helped us tremendously with planning our daily trips... more
