On arrival at the airport our (very expensive) transfer was there to meet us. So far so good. He dropped us off at the boat and waited for us to tip him. We arrived late at night, shown to our rooms, lights switched on and the cockroaches scattered up the walls. Whilst rooms appeared clean they were not. Promised aircon did not work. for a truly peaceful getaway bekana island is perfect. the only thing on the island is the resort which is family run so the service is very personal. all the staff were extremely friendly and made us feel like members of their family during our stay. they provide a shuttle launch to the mainland, about 10 minutes, free of charge... more
