The Tropicana @ Atlantic City had its positives and negatives. We went on a charter trip there....but to my surprise we were not the only tour bus there. It seems that the Tropicana has a business on receiving bus tours...so be prepared to battle small crowds at the buffet lines (because they all get discount coupons) So now the information:... more

The rooms are very basic, get what you pay for. No frills or thrills, just a basic hotel room with a bed, bathroom and a TV in the South Tower for $75 (posted for $59 but with tax, occupancy fee etc..) This was fine for me though since I spent almost no time at all in the room and all... more

i have stayed at the Tropicana twice in the past 5 years, once recently, and was completely grossed out both times. They supposedly have a newer tower, but I have been stuck in the old one both times. The decor is straight out of the late-1980s, early 1990s. The carpets are stained, and the rooms are smelly. Upon my first... more

After reading all the negative reviews, I almost canceled our reservation, but decided to see what happened. We paid $69 a night for a standard room in the Havana Tower. At that cheap price, I fully expected a dirty room with a hard bed but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was roomy and attractive in my opinion and most... more

I am writing this review b/c when it was time to book a hotel in Atlantic City and never had been there before the reviews were either loved it or hated it. I'm not sure if my review will help but I'd like to share my thoughts on The Tropicana. I booked this hotel through priceline and the description of... more

Upon returning to our room we found that the room had been burglerized, stolen we my laptop, camera, and various items... more

We stayed at the Trop for Halloween weekend so we had a decent rate for the two nights. We have stayed at the Borgata for the past several years so this is the standard we were used to. Despite trying hard, Tropicana has a cheese factor they can't seem to eliminate. We stayed in the Havana tower in a corner... more

We have just returned from Atlantic City . We stayed Oct 24-27 at the Tropicana. The North Tower was fine , rooms fine, restaurants fine. We were able to find a few frontline staff who were very helpfull with directions etc.. However, the majority of the staff were quite rude and not helpfull at all. I would not return to... more

have been going to Atlantic City for the past 12 years. In that time I have stayed at the Tropicana an estimated 40-50 times, mostly because of them being generous with their comped rooms (although in the summer they don't want to know you). In the past 2 years or so I have noticed alot of changes, Here are the... more

I have been staying in Atlantic City hotels for over 13 years. I just recently stayed here in October 2008. I stayed with my friend who had the room comped. It was a good thing that it was free. We stayed in the "West Tower" which is the oldest out of the other towers they have. We stayed in the... more
