As soon as I walked through the door, I fell in love with this lovely hotel. The dominating cream and light grey color in the outstanding architectural design plus the water features throughout the landscape give the weary travellers a peaceful and relaxing feeling. Staff is most obliging and service is excellent. We have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner in... more

Arrived in Art Lounge, offered cold towel and pineapple & very ginger drink. Checking in early was no problem, phoned in advance. Slightly disappointed with room position, right next to noisy elevators with courtyard view. Room decor was modern, attractive and included an Ipod. Bathroom needed a clean and toilet made a trickling sound. Requested English Breakfast teabags for our... more

Simply a great hotel - my wife and I arranged for the hotel staff to pick us up at the airport, and they showed up in Lexus SUVs with cold towels and cold bottles of water, which was a hint of the luxury to come. They were also helpful in arranging a guide and driver, and even coordinating with a... more

Having worked in the hotel industry for over 15 years for a large 5 star American chain, I get to travel all over the world and experience amazing hotels. I can say that I am very choosy and very picky and attention to detail is my name! I booked this hotel for my birthday and was completely wowed by the... more

My thoughts are generally in-line with the consensus view on Trip Advisor. The De La Paix is a very nice hotel, particularly considering that it sits smack-dab in the middle of a poverty-riddled city. We visited the other majors in town during our stay in Siem Reap (Raffles, Sofitel, FC Angkor, and the Heritage House), and would put this one... more

I arrived at the Hotel De La Paix after staying at The Penisula in Hong Kong. I also manage a small boutique hotel very similar to La Paix in another difficult country. I loved the hotel. It was obvious that a tremendous amount of time had been spent on staff training. The staff were always friendly and smiling. There were... more

I was in Siem Reap in 2004 (stayed at Le Meridien) and wanted to try a more central location. This hotel is gorgeous, with all the trappings of a boutique hotel, but the longer I stayed the more the impression unraveled. Foremost problem was the murky brownish water -- from the faucet, in the toilet, the tub and the shower. I... more

Management response from
HoteldelaPaix, General Manager

As I have mentioned in a previous response last year, I will leave responses regarding our service and style/design for others to judge. However I would certainly like to acknowledge and address the issue relating to water quality at the hotel recently. Indeed we did encounter unexpected problems with water quality for a few days recently. As mentioned, it was...

The location is in the centre of town, within very easy walk to the Pub Street and Old Market. The room was good size with very good airconditioning (you need that in Siem Reap after a hot and humid day in the temple). The breakfast was fair, they offer cook dishes but otherwise the selection was small. The cafe offer... more

We were looking forward to staying at this hotel having seen all the beautify pictures on the website. The reality proved much different however. While the rooms were descent we found rest of the hotel disappointing. For a five star hotel we expected much more. Pool was tiny and hidden in the back of the hotel. Barely any room to... more

If you are looking for an upscale, relaxing oasis while you take a break from the temples. . . the De la Paix is perfect. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and the service is fantastic. The food is great (although I had most of my meals outside of the hotel) The hotel staff was also fantastic. I had a... more
