Old hotel, great location, except for the noise. Small room, good bathroom, good bed, mini frig didn't work very well. Room looked out over the square and had great views...but windows didn't close properly (neither one as the there to French Doors) Good restaurant and lounge area. Excellent staff. Lovely old hotel in great location. I walked from the train station - it was a bit of a hike and they were tearing up the streets but it wasn't too bad with a backpack. We loved our stay at the Metropole. It was very centrally located, within walking distance of many places. The staff was very very helpful.
