Nice room and clean, but bathroom needs a little updating. There was mold in the shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Good location! Nice stay for the price. Parking is expensive. more

We chose the George for its location near to the Capitol and the metro at Union Station. We were very happy on both counts. Stayed at the Hotel George June 2008 and the location is perfect. A few blocks away from the National Mall, close to Union Station and the trolley tours. The staff bends over backwards to make you comfortable, room is immaculate, the beds are comfortable. There are homeless people everywhere in DC. This is a safe and pleasant place to stay... more

I booked this hotel based on on-line reviews noting the convenient and safe location. Upon arrival, I found both statements to be untrue. Anything you will want to visit will be at least a few blocks away and you will have to walk by numerous homeless people on your route. This is probably true of virtually any hotel in DC;... more
