After seeing the city from the ground for the first few days we were amazed to see this wonderful city from these heights. We got an amazing perspective from Top of the Rock which looked down (and across) to almost everything. We got there about 30 - 45 minutes before sunset which gave us great chance to see the city... more
Agree with other reviews. A must do in New York. No queues on our visit, so after a quick security check we were up in the lift. The views all over the city are brilliant. Just go and see for yourselves - I am sure you cannot fail to be disappointed! more
Just Do it. Awesome views. No line ups. very friendly staff. more
If you are in a crunch for time and have the money then do it. Very short lines, we had to wait 15min. I loved the views, Central Park looks so small from up there and the ESB is especially great to see. Have never been to ESB but from what I've read, I would definitely do TOTR instead. more

I spent three days in New York with my two teenagers last week and this was one of our favorite things. I've been to the top of the Empire State Building several times and it's always a grim slog - horrible lines, being treated like cattle in shutes, herded through dark, dank and dingy hallways and back stairs, packed like... more
We went up the TOTR in May 08 and were blown away by the views, we were goin gto go up the ESB which was opposite the hotel but I had the experiance was much better here and weren't dissapointed. We arrived about 10am and there were no queing at all, straight up to the top where there are three... more
I thought this was a better viewing platform than the Empire State Building. You get views of the whole of Central Park AND the Empire State Building - from the ESB you can't see either of these. The viewing platform is huge and the sides are perspex so you get good views and good photographs. more
